In 2023, a remarkable milestone was achieved with the completion of two major projects: BlackRock at 55 Hudson Yards and Pfizer at 66 Hudson Blvd, each spanning over one million square feet.
Their scope of work encompassed overseeing the delivery and installation of an impressive array of furnishings, including over 12,000 linear feet of demountable glass walls, 7,000 workstations and private offices, as well as coordinating the logistics of more than 75 trailer loads of ancillary furniture. Moreover, Conrad’s team managed the commercial relocation for both companies, ensuring a seamless transition to their new spaces.
Conrad’s leadership was pivotal in preparing and implementing meticulous delivery schedules, managing the receipt of all furniture and technology through a local warehouse, and effectively supervising project management and site labor. His guidance provided stability and direction to navigate the complexities of the two projects simultaneously.
The challenges posed by the new construction of both buildings demanded rigorous attention to detail. Critical site dimensions had to be established early on to accommodate various workstation clusters, diverse demountable wall configurations, and intricate electrical and data requirements. Hundreds of pages of acknowledgements had to be reconciled to assure proper receipt of every part ordered.
Despite these obstacles, an adaptive proactive approach and collaborative spirit fostered effective problem-solving and ensured that both projects stayed on track.
With a combination of thorough preparation and a unified commitment to success, Conrad and his team successfully addressed site readiness issues and product challenges, averting potential delays and cost overruns. As a result, both projects were completed on schedule and within budget, showcasing their dedication to delivering exceptional results
